AIM North America named Epson an AIM 2020 Organization of the Year.
Guy Mikel, president of Color Label Solutions, a value-added reseller specializing in print-on-demand color label systems, nominated Epson for its success with the ColorWorks on-demand color label printers and its efforts to help the industry move from monochrome-only barcodes to labels that incorporate color and images.
“Epson has been instrumental in the color label market, focusing most of its innovations on printers designed for the automated identification segment of the label market,” said Mikel. “Overall, color label printing has been the largest and most important innovation to automatic identification technology since thermal printers, and Epson’s technology for delivering durable and affordable labels and printer hardware has made this happen.”
Established in 2013, the AIM Organization of the Year award is presented to an organization in recognition of outstanding contributions and service that have furthered the growth of the Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) industry.
“On-demand color labels are changing the way companies produce labels, with color labels and barcodes allowing businesses to help employees, customers and regulators quickly identify the correct products,” said Victor Gomez, director, Industrial Label Products, Epson America, Inc. “Epson is at the forefront of this evolution, working to help companies streamline workflows, reduce inventories, eliminate waste, and decrease production costs with smart on-demand color label solutions. We were honored to be nominated by Guy Mikel of Color Label Solutions, an important Epson partner and a respected voice in the industry, and equally thrilled to be awarded this distinction by AIM NA.”
