Komori America Corporation's Lithrone GLX40RP, a 41-inch UV-equipped dedicated double-sided offset printing press, is the recipient of a PRINTING United Alliance 2020 InterTech Technology Award, the company announced.
This year is the fifth time Komori has been honored with an InterTech Technology Award.
Previous accolades were for the company’s proprietary H-UV Curing System, the Lithrone S40 press, the Komori Fully Automatic Plate Changing System (APC) and the Impremia IS29, a 29-inch inkjet, sheetfed UV printing system.
The GLX40RP takes advantage of reverse printing technology so no flipping of the sheet is required.
The 41-inch, 18,000 sheets-per-hour, multi-color press delivers high-speed, one-pass two-sided printing with great stability, making it possible to run high-quality print on paper, boards and synthetic substrates ranging from 8 point to 32 point—perfect for blister cards, folding cartons, skin pack sheets, stretch pack, CD sleeves, menus and other specialty products.
“We are honored to once again receive a prestigious InterTech Technology Award from PRINTING United Alliance for a press that truly carries on the brilliant performance of our Lithrone G Series,” said T. Kubotera, president of Komori America. “The GLX40RP has a one-of-a-kind press design that drives flexibility and sheer productivity, giving our customers a competitive edge, as well as greater profitability.”
