Flint Group Packaging Inks will present its views on the importance of designing inks and coatings for a circular economy, at an upcoming Flexographic Technical Associa-tion (FTA) webinar on Aug. 26 – jointly hosted by the FTA and Sustainable Green Partnership (SGP).
Titled “I’m not Trash: Designing Inks & Coatings for a Sustainable Future,” Natalie Jardell, sustainability product manager, and Gayle Wirthwine, director of product man-agement and development, both of whom work within Flint Group Packaging Inks North America, will talk to the role of inks and packaging as it pertains to both the planet and its people.
“Packaging sustainability has become an increasingly important issue in recent years and consumers are concerned about its role in waste and pollution,” Jardell said. “To-day they, along with governments, NGOs and industry in general, are seeking ways to achieve a more circular economy. As a result, brands and their supply chains are in-vesting in new and innovative ways to meet the needs of society and the environment, today and into the future. We can think about this in terms of transforming what is often perceived as trash into the goods of tomorrow.”
“At Flint Group Packaging Inks, we have a sustainability vision that commits us to sup-port packaging markets with responsibly built products and sustainable solutions de-signed for circular economies,” Wirthwine added. “We will be sharing insight on inks and coating developments that can address a variety of environmental needs. This in-cludes a look at cradle to cradle processes, the differences between biodegradable and compostable products, the benefit of reusable solvents, and other technological aspects related to inks and coatings. We will also delve into the various stages of re-cycling processes.”
This webinar is free of charge and will take place at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Aug. 26. To reserve your spot, visit the FTA registration page here.
