Emerald Kalama appointed Wendy Herbst as VP and GM leading the organization’s Consumer Specialties business.
In this role, Herbst will be responsible for the strategic direction and all commercial and operational aspects of the business globally.
“There have been major shifts in consumer markets in recent years; regulatory drivers and consumer preferences are changing the landscape for many manufacturers and ingredients. As a result, Consumer Specialties needs agile leadership that can guide the business with responsiveness and flexibility,” said Edward Gotch, CEO of Emerald Kalama Chemical.
“Wendy is great at recognizing unique opportunities and skillfully responding to new objectives, which has made her an excellent leader and strategic planner in all of her endeavors with Emerald," Gotch added. "This makes her a great fit for this next chapter with Consumer Specialties."
Herbst joined Emerald in 2014 and most recently led Emerald’s Antioxidants and Accelerators (AOA) business as GM. She has nearly 20 years of experience in marketing and sales for specialty materials, including roles at Arizona Chemical, Eastman and the Sherwin-Williams Company.
With Herbst’s transition to her new role, Scott Neuheardt, VP and GM for Emerald’s Industrial Specialties business, will additionally assume leadership for AOA’s portfolio, while continuing to lead Industrial Specialties.
