Allen Press, Inc. and Silverchair jointly announced the launch of Meridian, a digital publishing platform and service of Allen Press, powered by Silverchair.
Engineered for the world’s leading scholarly and professional publishers, Meridian is designed to serve independent society and association publishers as part of Allen Press’ extensive suite of services.
As exclusive online publishing technology partners, Allen Press and Silverchair developed Meridian to deliver an intuitive user interface, robust reader experience, and highly customizable site configurations.
Allen Press customers will benefit from the responsive web design, reader-preferred split-screen view, and personalized content suggestions.
“Our unique partnership with Allen Press expands our ability to provide advanced platform technology to independent society publishers,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “Combining the capabilities of the Silverchair Platform with Allen Press’ comprehensive content management services, Meridian offers a ‘technology plus services’ package for smaller society and association publishers that can’t be beat.”
Once the platform is fully launched, Meridian will host nearly 150 journals from more than 90 organizations.
“Allen Press plays an integral role in helping STEM and society publishers distribute information to scientific and professional communities,” said Mark Kohlhase, Allen Press interim CEO. “The content published by our customers deserves the very best digital publishing technology. We firmly believe the Meridian platform, powered by Silverchair, enhances our customers’ journal readership, engagement and dissemination.”
