The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership announced its sister company SGP Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization.
The mission of the SGPF is to provide education and awareness on the best practices associated with sustainability in the printing industry, including printers, suppliers and customers/print buyers. SGPF key focus includes:
"Companies, especially in the retail space, require printers to be part of a more sustainable supply chain. SGPF plans to provide educational programs and information that will positively impact sustainability success with our SGP certified facilities, brands, suppliers and the printing industry as a whole," Graham said. "The SGP Foundation will directly address the needs of the market and provide best practices via seminars, webinars and information sharing to make the sustainability journey easier."
2018 is the 10th anniversary year of SGP. The introduction of SGP Foundation coincides with the introduction of the SGP Impact Tracker and merger of the TLMI L.I.F.E. certification program in SGP.
"For 10 years, the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership has enabled printers to demonstrate and validate their commitment to sustainability via SGP certification," said Doreen Monteleone, SGP Foundation board member and Flexographic Technical Association representative. "With the SGP Foundation and its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, we are providing education about sustainable printing to the current and next generation of printers through information exchange and collaboration facilitating a more sustainable future to benefit everyone."
"The SGPF comes out of an understanding that SGP and our community of certified printers, industry suppliers, associations and retail brands have valuable experience and information to share with a broader audience," added Graham. "We anticipate the Foundation to be the catalyst for innovation in the sustainability for the printing industry and businesses in general."
