BASF SE has decided to contribute €100,000 to relief efforts in Sulawesi in Indonesia. With funding from BASF, BASF Stiftung, a charitable foundation based in Germany, will support international disaster relief activities as an immediate aid to victims of the Sept. 28, 2018 earthquake and tsunami.
The donated funds will be used to deploy relief measures in Indonesia such as emergency supplies, sanitation materials and health support.
Sanjeev Gandhi, a member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE and responsible for the Asia Pacific region, said, “We offer our deepest sympathy to the victims of the disaster. Fortunately, all employees of BASF and BASF sites in Indonesia are safe following the earthquake and tsunami in Sulawesi.”
“BASF and BASF Stiftung will also provide support to employees affected by the disaster. Our aim is to offer rapid support for recovery efforts in the region,” Daniel Loh, president director, BASF Indonesia, added.
