Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc. announced that Spectrum Print Plus, a digital cut-sheet commercial print service provider located in Canton, MA, recently installed an Océ Colorado 1640 roll-to-roll wide-format printer in its quest to enter the wide-format market. The addition of the UVgel powered technology has helped enable Spectrum Print Plus to increase throughput, capture new business opportunities and develop new product applications.
Spectrum Print Plus traditionally has serviced the retail, beverage, food service and restaurant markets in the Boston area and outsourced wide format applications, such as banners, window signage, display, and POP work. Mark Zimmerman, Spectrum Print Plus president and CEO sought a roll-fed printer that would satisfy the company’s growing demand for these types of applications. Spectrum Print Plus chose to purchase an Océ Colorado 1640 printer.
The Océ Colorado 1640 printer has enabled Spectrum Print Plus to accommodate customers of all sizes, with jobs that were previously difficult to manage on their solvent-based equipment due to turnaround times. Over the last year, profits have increased significantly on account of Spectrum’s ability to meet customer demands.
“We can now take more work, deliver more high-quality jobs in a day, and eliminate the need to outsource projects,” added Zimmerman. “The Océ Colorado 1640 has enabled us to seek opportunities in new markets with new customers that we simply could not do in the past. It has been game-changing for our business.”
