The Xerox Iridesse Production Press and XMPie’s Circle PersonalEffect Edition are each a recipient of the print industry’s InterTech Technology Awards.
The awards – managed by the largest graphic arts trade association, Printing Industries of America (PIA) – recognize technologies that are transforming the graphic communications space.
“We look for devices and software solutions that are truly innovative and are likely to open new opportunities for printing companies,” said Jim Workman, VP, Center for Technology and Research, PIA.
“For our customers, Iridesse and XMPie technology are powerful business tools to take printed applications and marketing campaigns to the next level,” said Andrew Copley, president, Graphic Communications Solutions, Xerox. “With continued demand for print embellishments and automated end-to-end omnichannel marketing solutions, our technology will keep our customers ahead of the competition."
Iridesse is the only digital six station press that combines four-color printing with two specialty gold, silver or clear dry inks in a single printing pass.
“The judges considered the ability to print CMYK plus multiple metallic dry inks in one pass, at full press speeds and in extra sharp resolution, to be truly innovative,” said Workman. “They noted that producing special effects on the press is further enhanced by the ability to quickly swap inks to different positions.”
Circle is the only omnichannel communications solution that brings together individualized content and a marketing automation workflow.
“The judges acknowledged the power of this edition of Circle as a marketing automation tool for client omnichannel campaigns,” said Workman. ‘The visualization tool, connectivity and integration features, and its relative affordability caused the judges to believe it was going to have a significant impact.”
