Crown Holdings, Inc. hired Robert H. Bourque, Jr. as president of its Transit Packaging Division – effective August 1 , 2018. Transit Packaging includes the businesses also known as Signode Industrial Group , which Crown acquired on April 3 , 2018.
Bourque, 48, will succeedMark Burgess , who, following a brief transition period, will leave the company on Sept. 30 , 2018.
Bourque will be based at Transit Packaging headquarters inGlenview, IL and report to Timothy J. Donahue , Crown's president and CEO.
Bourque served as president of the Asia Pacific Division. Previously, he held positions of increasing responsibility within Crown, including general management, sales, manufacturing and engineering roles both inthe U.S. and Asia Pacific. He first joined Crown in 1993.
"We are fortunate to have someone of Bob's caliber to lead and grow our transit packaging business,” Donahue said. “During Bob's tenure guiding the Asia Pacific Division, segment income increased more than 20%, driven largely by the expansion of our industry-leading beverage can business in Southeast Asia.”
