Frisco Printing and Graphics Center in Frisco, TX, has doubled productivity and expanded its print applications with a new Heidelberg Versafire CV digital printing machine. The new digital press replaced an older competitive machine and allows the Texas-based company to maintain a healthy competitive advantage in a short run market.
“We have a niche market of around 2,000 sheets,” notes Ron Naas, president. “Our turnaround times have improved from three days to just 24 hours.”
According to owners Ron and Peggy Naas, the decision to invest in new digital technology was vital for their current and future business success.
“We are very excited to be able to print with white [and clear] toner, which we have been using in many areas,” said Naas. “Not only that, but we can print heavier stock (up to 16-pt.) and run longer sheet sizes (up to 27.5”), which has helped us gain new customers and bring in more work from our current customers. We no longer have to send these jobs out to other printers; we can print them in-house — making our customers very happy.”
Frisco Printing and Graphics Center focuses on four major areas of the industry including multi-page booklets, short run direct mail, large format and marketing materials. As a pure digital shop, the company has been serving the Dallas and Frisco areas since 2009.
Unique in its class, the Versafire CV can print five colors with a maximum speed of 90 pages per minute. Aside from the four primary colors, the digital printing system offers both a high-opacity white and a high-gloss full-area or spot clear coating (neon yellow coating will also be available beginning January 2017).
As a result of its laser technology, the Versafire CV delivers sharp high-resolution images. Other impressive features include toner with a large color gamut and a low melting point. This makes it possible to print on a wider range of materials, such as heat-sensitive plastics, with an image and color quality close to that achieved in offset.
