CROWN Embalagens Metálicas da Amazônia S.A. (CROWN Brazil), a joint venture of Crown Holdings, Inc. and Évora S.A. of Porto Alegre, Brazil, is extending its portfolio of beverage can sizes with the addition of a 250ml slim style format. Available in the Americas for the first time, the 250ml package made its market debut in Brazil in partnership with Heineken. The cans are being produced at Crown’s Ponta Grossa plant, and reached store shelves in September 2016. Crown already produces the 250ml slim style format for Heineken in Europe and Asia.
“We are pleased to be able to leverage the longstanding relationship we have with Crown around the globe to deliver this new beverage can size to consumers in Brazil,” says Wilson Toyama, Heineken Brazil Procurement Director. “As in other parts of the world, Brazilian consumers are seeking greater convenience and more choices from their favorite brands. Bringing the 250ml slim style beverage can to Brazil will let us satisfy those needs.”
Manufacturers of energy drinks and other ready-to-drink beverages can also utilize the new format to refresh their packaging mix and enhance their brand image to attract younger, more active consumers. Along with being easier to grip and visually appealing, the slim style cans provide an effective barrier against light and air, keeping products fresher longer and chill quickly. Additionally, the 250ml slim style can is easily stackable, lighter to transport and 100% and infinitely recyclable – qualities that all aluminum cans share.
