Djalma Novaes Jr. has been named president of Crown Embalagens Metálicas da Amazônia S.A. (Crown Brazil), a joint venture of Crown Holdings, Inc. and Évora S.A. of Porto Alegre, Brazil. The appointment was effective on March 1. Novaes succeeds Rinaldo Lopes, who spent more than 30 years with Crown.
Novaes returns to Crown Brazil from Fitesa, a nonwoven producer and a subsidiary of Évora S.A., where he served as COO since March 2012. Before that, Mr. Novaes held a number of positions within the Crown organization, including director of operations for Crown Brazil, as well as area manager and vice president of operations at Crown Beverage Packaging North America. Novaes first joined Crown in 1998.
