Marabu combines business success with environmental protection, safety and social responsibility. Avoiding the use of regulated materials and developing user-friendly, low-emission products has long been a top priority. The company’s corporate environmental philosophy is firmly integrated within the economic process and actively lived by all Marabu employees up to the management board.
The 'Marabu Environmental Report 2013' completes the first edition of 2010 and summarizes all the important approaches and results. Marabu products’ carbon footprints (PCF) are a key gauge of environmental performance and also in the interests of customers.
Proactive and certified – Examples of current steps:
• OHSAS Certification 2012: The main production facilities in Tamm and Bietigheim-Bissingen have been certified to ISO 9001 since 1995, and to ISO 14001 since 2003, representing Marabu’s simultaneous commitment to quality and corporate environmental protection. In 2012, Marabu was also certified to OHSAS 18001, enabling us to integrate occupational health and safety issues into the Marabu management system.
• Tampatex TPX – Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification: Obtaining the certification for the pad printing ink delivers added value to customers, their health and the environment. Numerous tests have verified that Tampatex TPX is not harmful to health and does not cause allergies or skin rashes.
• Responsible Care Award 2012 for resource efficiency: Since 1998, Marabu has voluntarily participated in the global Responsible Care Initiative, a comprehensive program which commits the chemical industry to high health, safety and environmental standards.
Marabu has implemented a number of projects to promote sustainable use of feedstocks, utilities and other materials, as well as energy, which are outlined in the Enviromental Report 2013.
