Labelexpo Europe is marking the next step in Xeikon's unique dry toner technology with the launch of the new ICE toner.
“We are delighted to be introducing a new, breakthrough in dry toner technology at the show,” said Filip Weymans, Xeikon’s director business development and marketing, Labels and Packaging.
“Xeikon ICE is the first dry toner capable of printing on PE, a label substrate that is particularly important in the health and beauty segment where brand owners seek not only exceptional shelf appeal, but durability through the life of the product as it is handled by the consumer," Mr. Weymans added.
At Xeikon's Labelexpo Europe stand 9H45, Xeikon is featuring its 3300 and 3500 digital label presses. The Xeikon 3300, built around the commonly used 330 mm/13” web width, is running with an inline converting unit, including a laser from GM. The Xeikon 3500 allows the use of material up to 516mm/20.3” wide, and is running in a roll-to-roll configuration. Successful in a wide variety of market segments, Xeikon is demonstrating the capabilities of its digital label presses by printing jobs submitted by converters through the See the Proof campaign, designed to educate the labels and packaging market on the benefits of digital printing.
Xeikon is also showcasing software. “The Xeikon 3300 and 3500 are powerful additions to any converter’s production platform,” said Mr. Weymans. “But we also understand that installing a digital label press, in and of itself, is not enough. That is why we are committed to the development of a variety of software solutions that make the transition into digital easier for label converters while adding significant value for their customers. These tools and solutions will be on display in our Software Corner at the show.”
Among Xeikon's software is ColorControl, a cloud-based color management tool ensuring repeatable, predictable colors;ColorMagic, a tool that saves label converters printing on clear substrates a significant amount of time in prepress; Vectorizor, desribed as "the missing link" in a digital print and digital diecut environment; MyPress, the user interface for the Xeikon X-800 digital front-end, built from the ground up and based on input from operators in the field.
In Labelexpo’s Package Printing Zone in Hall 12, Xeikon is demonstrating its folding carton solution with a Xeikon 3500 running the Alpine 516 fuser, with inline Bograma finishing unit.
“While labels are moving to digital production more quickly than other packaging segments,” Mr. Weymans said, “folding cartons are not far behind. With this innovative approach to end-to-end manufacturing for short-run folding cartons, Xeikon is bringing its digital printing expertise to the folding carton market as well.”
