Corporate web sites have evolved over the years, from what now seem primitive attempts to sites that load up on eye candy. However, there is a clear swing toward web sites that are easy to navigate and provide the information that customers seek.
Since the beginning of the year, Micro Powders has been creating its new web site with an eye toward how to best serve its customers. The result is a very user-friendly site that makes visiting the site – www.micropowders.com – more of a pleasure than a chore. Key among the features are a speedy Product Selector menu and a Sample Cart, modeled after shopping carts on commercial sites, that allows formulators to request the samples they need in an easy fashion.
There is also more accessible information including PDF downloads of technical data sheets, safety data sheets (SDS) and company brochures.
“This is the right time to give our web site a new look and feel,” said Gary Strauss, general manager for Micro Powders. “Users want to be able to find information easily, without bells and whistles. We have been working on the site since the beginning of the year, and we are very happy with the end result. We wanted to make it more up-to-date and easy to use.”
“It is a very sophisticated web site,” said Toni-Raye Gizzo, marketing manager for Micro Powders. “We feel that the new design and the updated tools will allow our visitors a much faster and easier way to access all of our product and company information. We are very pleased with the outcome and are excited about this launch.”
Ease of use is essential. Once a formulator selects among the 17 different applications, they can narrow down their specific needs in terms of product characteristics. At this point the web site will give a list of product recommendations from which to choose. Ordering a sample of one of these products is quick and easy with the new Sample Cart System.
“Our Product Selector allows formulators to find the product they need and request samples using our Sample Cart that we will turn around quickly,” Mr. Strauss said. “We also have our SDS and technical data sheets online, as well as product literature.
