All Printing Resources (APR) has announced that the company has partnered with Omet to provide hands-on comprehensive educational and training at Omet's North American headquarters in Elk Grove Village, IL, USA. This is the only demo facility for Omet narrow web presses in North America.
The two companies' first joint seminar, Flexo Fundamentals, will be held at APR Headquarters May 12-13, 2020, and will feature a visit to the Omet facility, where a 7-color flexo job will run on the Omet XJet powered by Durst. The hybrid press system combines an Omet Xflex X6 430 and Durst Tau RSC.
The event was initially scheduled for March 24-25, but it was moved due to concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Catherine Haynes, director of digital solutions and training at APR, comments, "We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Omet so that attendees at future APR educational events can explore the flexo workflow, from prepress output to platemaking and into the pressroom. Our Flexo Fundamentals Seminar in May will feature a 7-color fingerprint press run. The need for quality educational and hands-on training far outweighs the few available offerings to flexo converters in the US. Partnering with Omet gives APR the opportunity to take our workshops and seminars to the next level and to ensure attendees have access to hands-on print and troubleshooting opportunities."
In pooling together the companies' collective resources, APR brings a hands-on asset to its established series of annual workshops and educational events. APR's Technical Innovation Center has a variety of platemaking products, including solvent, water and thermal, in addition to the newest Esko CDI Crystal and XPS UV LED exposure units.
