Terry Amerine, VP – sales & marketing provided an update on behalf of Polymeric Group:

"As our nation and local communities deal with the on-going COVID-19, we want to ensure that the health and safety of our customers and employees is our highest priority. We also understand and appreciate that the COVID-19 virus presents unparalleled challenges for every business and industry due to supply chain disruption, closures, and event cancellations.

"On March 16, 2020, the President of the United States issued updated Coronavirus Guidance for America. This guidance states: 'If you work in the critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, … you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.'

"Over the past few days, Kansas City and the surrounding counties instituted 'stay-at-home' orders requiring that only essential businesses remain in operation. We have carefully reviewed the language and interpretation of every order and have concluded that as we supply products to a variety of industrial segments including aerospace, defense, transportation, energy as well as healthcare and pharmaceutical that Polymeric is an essential business as we need to continue to supply our products to enable these critically important customers to continue to supply urgently needed materials at this time of national crisis - especially those customers supplying critically needed medical supplies.

"We also developed a hand sanitizer product based on existing raw materials and converted a portion of our production capacity to supply this critical product to healthcare facilities that are on the front-line of this crucial battle for all of us.

"Polymeric has and is continuing to follow the guidance and direction of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and government authorities. As such, we have implemented the following to mitigate the risk for our employees and the business:
  • Non-essential visitors to our offices and manufacturing facility are prohibited at this time;
  • Non-essential travel is prohibited;
  • Good hygiene practices, including increased regular disinfection of hard surfaces, equipment, and common areas;
  • Social distancing practices at our offices and manufacturing facilities to minimize employee contact;
  • We have adopted split production shifts and minimizing staffing as much as possible;
  • We maintain a broad network of suppliers and we are working closely with them to ensure and verify the flow of raw materials on a consistent basis.
"In closing, Polymeric is remaining consistently focused and informed of this very dynamic situation. As the situation changes – we work as best we can to mitigate any impact on our customers. At this time, we will do all we can to meet our previous timeframes to fulfill orders but this may not always be possible. At times like this communication is vital and we are committed to keeping every customer informed of any changes as quickly as possible.

"We thank you for your business and your patience in these unprecedented times and we will keep you updated on further developments. For specific questions, please contact your sales manager or give us a call."
