SR217: New Specialty Monomer for UV/EB Applications

Sartomer has introduced SR217, a new UV/EB-curable monomer that is suited to a wide range of applications, including inkjet, flexo, and screen inks, metal and plastic coatings and laminating adhesives.

This monofunctional monomer has a very low viscosity and surface tension and makes an excellent diluent. It is hydrophobic, and demonstrates good weathering resistance. SR217 is similar in performance to isobornyl acrylate (IBOA), but it has a sweeter, milder odor. In situations where IBOA cannot be used due to availability or odor, SR217 can be substituted.
