Nova Pressroom Products, LLC was established in 2007, during a transitional period in the commercial printing industry. Ten years ago, the industry was at a pivotal point with changing technology, evolving consumer habits, and new marketing trends. The company is a full line manufacturer of pressroom chemicals, including water-based coatings, UV coatings, fountain solutions, silicones and press washes. Nova products are available through a network of graphics arts dealers in the US,
Canada, Latin America and Asia. The company’s motto is simple: “Small company, big technology.”
Nova employs a team of four experienced formulators who are widely known and possess strong working relationships with many of the industry’s top printers. Since opening its doors in 2007, Nova has built itself into a global business with experience in North America, Latin America and Asia.
According to Greg Rose, VP of sales, the company’s success is based on its ability “to quickly adapt and custom tailor products to each customer’s unique needs and challenges.” Rose added that Nova is also fully embracing the ever-changing industry.
“We have developed a line of low-VOC green solvents and a full line-up of energy-curable coating products, UV and LED that are more efficient and environmentally friendly,” he said. “Nova is focused on the growing packaging and label segments with emphasis on UV and LED technology. We have the capacity to work with the largest printers and the flexibility to work with smaller printers. The pressroom is what we do.”
According to Rose, Nova’s mission statement is to be the premier manufacturer of pressroom chemistry for the commercial printing and packaging industry, with an emphasis on customized and environmentally-friendly products.
“We strive to be the best and provide our customers and partners with the optimal customer experience. From a live person answering the phone to take your order, to direct access to our expertise and formulators, Nova is committed to meet and exceed its customer expectations,” Rose said.
Nova is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, and occupies a 27,000 square foot production site. The company utilizes blending and warehouse facilities located strategically across the US to service its customers.
In 2012, the company was awarded the Southeast United States Small Business Administration’s Small Business Exporter of the year in 2012. Additionally, that same year, Nova president Ronald J. Rose was named the US Small Business Administration’s North Florida District, State of Florida and Region IV - representing eight states - Small Business Exporter of the Year.
Rose received the SBA award at the 20th Annual Small Business Week Celebration at the University of North Florida’s University Center in Jacksonville.
“Since the onset of Nova, we have been committed to growing our export business, providing our dealers with specially formulated products for their particular markets, fast production and timely shipping. This award is a tribute to everyone on the Nova team,” Rose said at the time.
He added, “Our location in Jacksonville gives us multiple connections to major shipping lanes into Latin America and Asia. We have also benefited significantly from the help provided by the SBA, our local bank (American Enterprise Bank of Florida) and the Small Business Development Center.”
Rose also credited Nova’s membership in NPES as a key element in the company’s export growth.
“It’s a big world out there and you need accurate market information before committing vital resources to a particular region. NPES’ Global Trade Program provided us with precise real-time market data about growth print markets around the world.”
The company’s core products are UV and aqueous coatings, fountain solutions, silicone emulations, solvents, washes and cleaners, FOGRA and Baldwin approved products, oil and lubricants and other specialty cleaning and maintenance products for commercial printing: sheetfed, offset, flexo/label, heatset, coldset and packaging.
After a decade in an industry with tremendous changes and growth, Nova will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
“We are celebrating our anniversary May 20 at the Jacksonville Zoo,” Rose said. “We welcome our customers, partners and friends to join us in celebration.”
