United Mineral & Chemical Corporation announces that Joseph A. Mele has joined the company as a sales representative in its Pigments Division. Mele has been involved in the graphics arts markets for more than 30 years.
“We’re looking to grow our customer base and believe that Joe’s experience can be of great help in many markets,” states Mike Sansonetti, president of UMC. “Joe will be involved in many areas and will be selling to ink, plastics, paints and coatings.
Mele comes to UMC from his previous employment as the US sales manager for Polimeros Sinteticos, a Mexican-based manufacturer of gum rosin based products. He has been involved in raw material sales of pigments, resins, vehicles, solvent and additives to the graphic arts industry for more than 30 years. He began his career with Lawter International in South Kearny, NJ. In 2010, Mele received the Chicago Printing Ink Production Club “Supplier of the Year” award.
