The E.W. Kaufmann Company, a member of the KODA Distribution Group, announced Edmund F. (Ted) Burke as its new vice president of sales. Burke will manage the entire sales team and will also act as the key contact interfacing with E.W.Kaufmann’s principals.
Burke is a native of Philadelphia, where he attended St. Joseph’s University. He comes to Kaufmann with 38 years of experience in the chemical distribution industry. Burke had previously worked for Callahan Chemical Company, where he had held various positions including sales, sales management, branch management and various executive positions. He served as president of Callahan from 1994 until his retirement in September 2013.
In addition to his experience at Callahan, Mr. Burke is a former regional president of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), and a former member of its national board. He also served for six years as a trustee on the Chemical Education Foundation.
“We are very excited to have Ted join our management team,” Brian O’Connor, president of E.W. Kaufmann, said. “His knowledge base encompasses all of the markets we serve and his past history of leadership in the chemical distribution market is well documented.”
“I am very excited to take on this new role with Kaufmann and KODA,” Burke said. “I believe that Kaufmann has an excellent reputation in the markets it serves and I am confident that KODA is creating an exciting new dynamic in the industry. I look forward to working with Brian and his team.”
Coincidental with this announcement, Tom Rudeau will assume the position of executive account manager, reporting directly to Burke. Rudeau will be responsible for all of E.W.Kaufmann’s major accounts, inside sales program and will continue to act in a liaison capacity with key principals.
