A new campaign launched by the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) will raise funds exclusively for research and educational development, establish a Champions Team and have the organization’s solicitations and project evaluation committees collaborate in allocating financial resources to targeted initiatives.
The objectives are to involve rank-and-file FTA members in a grass-roots effort to foster the continued advancement of flexography, enhance training and promote technical innovation. The potential exists to raise more than $1 million. Included on the short list of projects being considered are in-depth demographic studies of business segments within the flexo printing/packaging marketplace, such as labels, folding carton, flexible packaging and corrugated/preprint.
It is being led by FFTA board member David Haradon, president and director of The Haradon Group. He is working with four other FTA/FFTA board members that comprise the steering committee, including Bob Mullen, vice president, sales and marketing, Sun Chemical.
