On Monday, I'm flying out to New Orleans for my first ever SGIA Expo, which runs from Oct. 10-12 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
I'll be attended presentations during Tuesday's Printed Electronics Symposium, which I wrote about last month.
But for the following two days, I'll be walking the expo floor – feel free to say hello! – checking out new products; award-winning inks and printers; demonstrations; and more.
Let's take a look:
Canon (booth 2525) has four Océ series printers, which won coveted SGIA Product of the Year awards in their respective categories.
"...[O]n the tenth anniversary of the Océ Arizona Series, this year’s award feels more important than ever," said Toyotsugu Kuwamura, EVP and GM, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc., and president and CEO, Canon Solutions America, Inc.
Durst had three large-format digital printers win POTY – and those will be on display at booth 1945.
FUJIFILM will be conducting live demonstrations in the company's "See it. Believe it." booth (1529).
“The Inca SpyderX [a UV wide format press designed and manufactured by Inca Digital making its North American debut] is going to wow the crowds at Expo this year,” said Becky McConnell, product marketing manager, Onset Series, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division.
Over at booth 1919, INX plans to show off its proven digital alternative inks, equipment and technologies.
“Our most advanced TRIANGLE inks are extremely versatile," said Jim Lambert, VP and GM – Digital Division, of INX International Ink Co.
The Kornit Vulcan – Direct-to-garment printers (Color Shirt – Not White) POTY – will be the centerpiece of Kornit Digital's booth (1617).
At booth 1231, Mimaki USA is slated to showcase its UCJV series cut-and-print devices, along with the JFX200-2531 – the Product of the Year in the UV Flatbed + White ($100K-$200K) category.
"This Mimaki engineered platform is the next generation in a line of industry leading flatbed printers..." Ken VanHorn, VP of Business Development and Administration, said of the JFX200-2531.
Mutoh America also collected some hardware – and the company, at booth 2545, will display four of the ValueJet printers that earned POTY.
Winning the awards “is a real testament to the quality of the Mutoh products and the employees that hand built them to our precise standards,” said Mutoh America, Inc. President Brian Phipps.
Nazdar will be showcasing new inks and UV developments at booth 1514.
In addition to showcasing its eco-solvent inkjets, Roland DGA (booth 601) will be offering money-saving product promotions.
Sawgrass' SubliJet-HD FLEX eight-color ink set for the Virtuoso 25” HD Product Decorating System garnered the Product of the Year Award in the Digital Inks – Textile category.
“SubliJet-HD FLEX inks exemplify our commitment to empowering businesses to grow with leading-edge sublimation printing applications that simultaneously deliver the outstanding color, clarity and value that drive sales success," said Sawgrass President Darcy Mauro.
Entries will be on display in the Golden Image Gallery and the awards will be presented in a special ceremony the night before the SGIA Expo opens.
