Job Description:

You will formulate, compound and evaluate all components of liquid inks and coatings and assess performance against defined sets of requirements. You’ll have a great opportunity to really shine in this role, working on new products mainly with water based inks.
This position is based in Hatfield, PA (19440).
- Safely compound with solvents, polymers, pigments and chemical additives and assess both their performance and processing requirements in formulation
- Accurately define and write formulation composition, processing procedures, QC requirements and required information for input into a database
- Manage on-site application trials on customer equipment and define and assess processing parameters and product performance to identify areas in need of improvement
- Provide technical service to customers
- Interact with technicians, production, management and customers
- Other duties as assigned
Your Education will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or other Science related focus (Master’s degree a plus)
- 3-5 years of formulation experience with water based printing inks / pigment dispersions preferred (may consider less experience)
- Experience/familiarity with printing and coating equipment
- Experience/familiarity with QC equipment and tests
- Ability to establish required QC procedures for developed formulations
- Experience/familiarity with processing equipment
- Ability to formulate processing procedures that are scalable to production equipment
- Experience with graphic arts and flexible web printing
- Wallcovering and vinyl production experience a plus
- Experience in gravure printing is a plus
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
