Responsibilities:
Projects will entail troubleshooting the jetting of inks based on their rheological profile at high frequencies. From this analysis, the chemist will work with members of the R&D team to make adjustments to formulations to improve jetting performance. For example, this chemist is expected to provide innovative ideas to formulate emulsions in order to improve ink properties such as jetting water-based inks. He or she will be analyzing and characterizing different emulsions in the lab, but will also be expected to manufacture small batches for print testing.
The position requires direct contact with customers; therefore, great communication skills are required in order to understand and transfer the customer requirements into a final product. The chemist must also be able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with very short time deadlines.
This person will perform and contribute to daily housekeeping functions as required for safe, efficient working conditions and as instructed by their Supervisor. And, he or she is also expected to perform some maintenance and calibration of select analytical equipment.
