Job Summary
Work with others in management team to develop company business strategy, analyze R&D opportunities, and overall R&D guidance and support.
Monitor and enhance R&D policies, procedures, and operating controls.
Participate in and manage product development/reformulation from concept to commercialization.
Responsible for the development of new products based on interaction/direction from Sales and Marketing.
Oversees the development of formula revisions (including cost reductions) of existing products.
Interaction with internal departments and outside vendors as projects dictate.
Direct supervision of a portion of the Technical Center staff, depending on the particular skills of the candidate with the expectation of supervising the entire Technical Center staff of seventeen (17) employees.
Position reports to the R&D Director.
Job Requirements
B.S. degree in chemistry required, Ph.D or masters a plus.
8+ years of progressive experience with a stable work history.
Industrial R&D experience required with preference towards graphic arts.
Must have strong supervisory, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Must be a team player and be able to relate to employees at all levels in the company.
Flexible self-motivated leader with ability to multi-task.
Must have potential of advancing to R&D Director position that reports to the CEO.
