Key Functions:
The lab manager is responsible for coordination, planning and function of the ink testing, development and quality assurance lab. Oversees lab functions to meet customer specifications, requirements, and new product development. Manages and directs lab department activities, including hiring, planning work, training, department supervision, job performance evaluation and salary reviews. Coordinates departmental activities with other groups such as sales, technical service, and production (ink color formulas and tools for quality assurance). Will help lead safety and environmental programs at the Marysville site. Will play a key role in making sure action items coming out of audits, safety suggestions, and customer requests are addressed in a timely manner. Directs the environmental and safety person to ensure compliance and maintain all necessary records for environmental and safety regulations. Shares and exchanges departmental activities with other facility lab managers.
Requirements:
Candidates will have 5-10 years of experience with ink formulation, ink chemistry, and matching those to customer requirements. 3-5 years of experience in ink laboratory direction, development, and managing of resources is preferred. Should have excellent press side technical and trouble shooting skills, color matching ability, and be detail oriented. Since heavy customer contact is required, the candidate should have excellent people skills, and be able to discuss topics in a clear and concise manner – both in verbal and written form. Some travel to customers or to other ink facilities is required.
