Terry A. Walsh, 61, passed away unexpectedly in his home on July 18, 2009. Mr. Walsh spent more than 40 years in the ink industry, the last eight years with Kramer Ink Company in its R&D lab, as well as developing standards for the entire ink industry.
Mr. Walsh worked for the biggest and smallest of companies, some of which included Sinclair & Valentine, Flint Ink, Acme, Sun Chemical, the Ink Company, GPI, US Printing Ink and Kramer Ink Company.
A degreed chemist, Mr. Walsh held many different positions in research and development, and contributed to the ink industry in many ways. Colleagues noted that he was highly respected for his incredible knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and problem solving in prepress as well as in the pressroom. He was also a certified G-7 expert. Mr. Walsh was the anchor R&D specialist for testing compliant washes and etches, working directly with PIASC and AQMD. His colleagues said Mr. Walsh will be sorely missed by his friends and “family” at Kramer Ink.
He is survived by his wife Diana, two daughters and a son.
