Troy Corporation announced the appointment of Mark Gwillim as president and COO. Mr. Gwillim will be responsible for all aspects of Troy’s operations worldwide and will have profit/loss responsibility. In addition, he will work with the specific business unit managers to develop and achieve their objectives.
Mr. Gwillim has 24 years of service with Troy as a director and has had a number of management responsibilities at the managing director level. For the last five years, he has managed operations in Europe. He also has had prior experience in the company’s subsidiary operations as CEO of Troy Biosciences Inc.
Mr. Gwillim is a graduate of The Citadel and holds an MBA from Southern Illinois University. Prior to joining Troy Corporation, he was vice president of Aeroflow Inc, Roanoke, VA. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.
Troy Corporation also appointed Dr. Izzy Colon as general manger for Europe. He will be responsible for Troy’s operations in Europe and have profit/loss responsibility.
Dr. Colon has 12 years of service with Troy and has had a number of management responsibilities at the vice president level. For 10 years, he managed Troy’s Science & Technology department, and more recently has been general manager for Troy’s additives businesses and operations in Thailand. He also has experience in Troy’s European operation, when he led a team to reduce costs for producing, storing and delivering product soon after Troy acquired the Mergal business.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and Ph.D. in organic chemistry. Prior to joining Troy Corporation, Dr. Colon spent 17 years with Union Carbide Corporation, where he held a number of director level positions, both technical and business, with UCAR Emulsion Systems, which was Carbide’s latex business.
