Julie Treon has been named manager, marketing communications in Ashland’s corporate affairs department with responsibility for Ashland Specialty Chemical Company, Dublin, OH.
Ms. Treon will be responsible for marketing communications planning and execution, including brand management and positioning, product publicity, advertising and collateral material, web content, trade shows, media relations and related activities. She also will serve on the Ashland Specialty Chemical leadership team, which reports to Gary Cappeline, president.
Ms. Treon most recently served as director of marketing and customer service at Arc Abrasives.
Gary Raley, president and COO of Johnson Polymer, recently appointed Mike Dalton global director of strategic business development. In his new role, Mr. Dalton and his team are responsible for leading innovation, strategy and growth initiatives in emerging business segments, managing technology partnerships and developing strategic alliances.
Mr. Dalton began his career with the Johnson family of businesses in 1983 and has served in manufacturing management, engineering, business development and marketing and business management roles. His most recent assignment in Johnson Polymer was business director – Americas region. He holds an MBA in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago and a degree in chemical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Mr. Raley appointed Alan Henshaw vice president – Americas region. In this position, Mr. Henshaw retains his former vice president – product innovation & new technology responsibilities, and gains responsibility for leading the Johnson Polymer business in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and South America. His responsibilities include setting and leading execution of strategy for the region; strengthening customer focus and innovation; extending Johnson Polymer’s market-driven management focus through new technology and product development efforts; and leading and developing Johnson Polymer's sales, marketing, product development, and technical service teams.
Mr. Henshaw started his Johnson career in Racine, WI 18 years ago as an industry specialist and has held managerial and directorial positions in the North American, European and Asia/Pacific Johnson Polymer organizations. His global management skills combined with his marketing knowledge, technical knowledge and wealth of global industry knowledge make him an ideal fit for this new position.
Mr. Henshaw holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and color chemistry from Leeds University, England, and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
