Sartomer Company has promoted Bill Wittig, former marketing manager of monomers and oligomers, to business manager of its Specialty Polymers Group. In his new position, Mr. Wittig will oversee all business activities for the group, which supports formulators in the elastomers, plastics, coatings, adhesives, sealants, polyurethanes and graphic arts markets with an extensive offering of specialty resins. Mr. Wittig will report to Jack Potts, Sartomer’s senior vice president of business management, sales, and marketing.
Previously, Mr. Wittig served for 10 years as Sartomer’s marketing manager of monomers and oligomers and was responsible for worldwide sales of the company’s photocure and functional additives product lines. These lines include monomers, oligomer, and photoinitiators for UV/EB- and peroxide-cure applications. Prior to that, Mr. Wittig spent three years as Sartomer’s manager of strategic planning.
“Bill has worked in the chemical industry for more than 20 years, holding management positions at Akzo-Nobel, Kline & Company, Air Products & Chemicals and Sartomer,” said Mr. Potts. “His intimate knowledge of the global specialty chemicals industry, as well as Sartomer’s products, makes him the ideal choice to lead our Specialty Polymers Group.”
Mr. Wittig replaces Dave Barbieri, who served as business manager of Sartomer’s Specialty Polymers Group for two years. Mr. Barbieri has joined Sartomer’s parent company, Atofina Chemicals, Philadelphia, PA, as director of finance and planning for the additives division.
