OM Group, Inc. has announced two new management appointments within its base metals business.
Wayde Yeoman has been named to the newly created position of director, cobalt metal sourcing and marketing, reporting to Todd Romance, vice president and general manager, cobalt. In this capacity, Mr. Yeoman will have global commercial responsibilities for cobalt metal, raw material sourcing and balancing the company’s refined cobalt metal production levels with market demand. Mr. Yeoman came to OM Group in 2000 and has held positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in his most recent position as global business manager, cobalt metal and inorganic salts. Before joining OMG he was a vice president with MRG (USA), Inc.
Mike Lacis has been promoted to business manager, inorganic specialties, cobalt and will report to Bob Strenk, vice president, sales and marketing, cobalt.
In his new and expanded role, Mr. Lacis will be responsible for developing global sales and marketing strategies for the company’s line of cobalt-based inorganic specialties, including carbonates, sulfates, nitrates and hydroxides. Additionally, he will manage the company’s sales team. Mr. Lacis most recently served as European business manager for cobalt and nickel inorganic salts.
