Superior Printing Ink has introduced Evolocity, a breakthrough in ultra-low VOC sheetfed technology that combines unrivaled press performance with environmental advantages that enable the printer to operate a greener pressroom.
“Evolocity delivers on multiple levels of customer value as printers are striving to minimize time and material waste in their manufacturing operations, while at the same time moving toward more environmentally responsible printing technology,” said Steve Simpson, senior vice president and chief technical officer. “For example, Evolocity can reduce the time to bindery to as little as 30 minutes on gloss, matte coated and offset sheets, with no aqueous coating and minimal spray powder – even when printed on both sides. Not only does this make the printer more efficient, but it eliminates the need to use petroleum-derived aqueous coatings.”
Evolocity delivers the same superb lithographic performance as Superior’s flagship Evolution series, but with minimal VOCs. Rich Czarnecki, vice president, technology, noted, “By eliminating conventional formulating materials such as petroleum-derived ink solvents and incorporating a significant amount of biomaterials derived from renewable resources, Evolocity offers a high performance alternative for today’s more environmentally conscious printers and their customers.”
Formulated for optimum press stability and stay-open performance, Evolocity minimizes make-ready waste and restarts to just a few sheets.
“The blanket stability of Evolocity is ideal for customers who are printing sheets that have an increasingly higher post-consumer recycled content,” Mr. Czarnecki said.
