Aellora˙ Digital, a Markem company providing digital chemistries, drop-on-demand ink jet systems and services for commercial, graphic and select other digital printing, imaging and dispensing applications, has introduced its new SureFire Digital Print Engines for piezo drop-on-demand (DOD) ink jet printing of opaque, UV-curable inks.
SureFire Digital Print Engines have print addressibilities of up to 1,200 dots per inch (dpi), and were specifically developed for jetting Aellora Digital BrightWhite white-pigmented UV-curable inks and VistaSpec color series UV-curable inks. Though new to the commercial and graphics industries, SureFire Digital Print Engines are already functioning in more than 100 installations worldwide, many operating 24/7 in demanding industrial environments. In addition, ongoing in-house reliability testing of these print engines jetting BrightWhite inks and simulating rigorous end-user requirements has already demonstrated more than 15,000 failure-free operating hours that include no unrecoverable jet-outs.
“Jetting white ink is not only a possibility, it is a reality with SureFire Digital Print Engines,” said Mario Carluccio, business development manager of Aellora Digital. “One of the obstacles in industries converting to digital printing technologies for short-run production has been the inability to produce white images. We have a good deal of reliability and customer data to support our successes in jetting white-pigmented inks. Our success also spans across many different applications to include promotional items, plastic cards, industrial signs, award plaques, electronic media, specialty and consumer products.”
