Central Chemical & Service has launched its RadFlex line of pigmented and dye-based UV dispersions. RadFlex pigmented dispersions utilize 35 percent to 70 percent pigment solids and are dispersed into an polyester acrylate oligomer. These new dispersions contain no monomer or flow promoters, and can be used in UV flexo, UV screen and some UV offset ink systems.
Ed Weller III, president of Central Chemical and Service, credited the efforts of technical director John Murtaugh and Shaun Mueller, product manager, UV/EB inks and coatings, with leading the efforts on RadFlex.
“The RadFlex UV dispersion line is derived from our work on UV systems the past two years,” Mr. Weller said. “It’s monomer-free, which allows the formulator greater flexibility for UV inks. It allows companies already in UV to streamline their production and inventory, and we can offer a company new to the UV ink industry a complete turnkey system or an ink that can be private-labeled. RadFlex is already growing, and has gained acceptance by small and large ink companies alike.”
In addition, the company has relocated to 262 Carlton Ave., Carol Stream, IL (phone (630) 653-9200), a much larger building than its previous location in Addison, IL. The company also started up Performance Printing, a UV screen printing operation, in the new building.
“We purchased a 35,000 square foot facility in Carol Stream, IL and formed a new company, Performance Printing, which specializes in high-end screen printing,” said Mr. Weller. “We now have two UV screen lines.”
