Sun Chemical (www.sunchemical.com) has named Laura Cory president of its digital business unit. Ms. Cory, a veteran of the digital printing industry, will oversee Sun Chemical’s current $50 million annual revenue digital business with responsibility for increasing Sun Chemical’s market position in toners, ink jet ink and pigment dispersions.
Ms. Cory’s appointment reinforces Sun Chemical’s commitment to expanding its global share in this rapidly growing market. She brings extensive experience from the digital industry to Sun Chemical and will lead the existing digital business, including the SunJet brand while developing an aggressive strategic plan.
Ms. Cory will operate out of the San Francisco Bay area and report to Dr. David Hill, senior vice president and chief technology officer. With operations in North America and the U.K., Sun Chemical supplies bulk digital inks worldwide to several large OEMs, and has been a pioneer in developing digital UV inks for use in such areas as package printing and large format advertisements such as billboards.

Ms. Cory joins Sun Chemical from Hewlett Packard, where she most recently served as general manager, strategy and emerging solutions within its enterprise solutions business. At Hewlett Packard she also was general manager, digital hard copy services and then moved to general manager, electronic publishing services before advancing to her most recent position. Prior to Hewlett Packard, she was vice president, marketing for desktop document systems with Xerox. Ms. Cory earned an MBA from Stanford University.
