Dominion Colour Corporation (DCC), Toronto, Canada, has acquired the organic pigment product lines of Max Marx Color Corporation, Irvington, NJ. This acquisition is consistent with DCC’s focus on expanding its range of specialty organic pigments for the printing ink, coatings and plastics markets. The addition of this range of violet, red, blue, green and yellow shades fits well with DCC’s existing organic product lines and will enhance the breadth of options for customers in these industries.
DCC and Max Marx are committed to ensuring the continued supply of Max Marx products and will continue to meet customer needs. All products will be supplied from the Max Marx production facility until the expansion of DCC’s new Toronto production facility is completed. At that time, production will then be transferred.
Walter Sichel, president of Max Marx will remain at the helm of Max Marx until the production transition is complete. Tom Doty, vice president and general manager of Max Marx, will continue with his responsibilities for production at Max Marx. Mike Guzzo, formerly vice president, sales at Max Marx, has joined DCC as sales manager, specialty organics, inks.
Product development of the purchased product lines will continue to be carried out at Max Marx’s facility under the direction of Mr. Sichel and Mr. Doty until the transfer of production has been successfully completed.
DCC has production facilities/capabilities in Canada, Venezuela, Japan and China, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kikuchi Color and Chemical Company, Tokyo, Japan.
