UVitec Printing Ink, Inc., Lodi, NJ, has introduced the 87 series of UV flexographic inks that was developed using a proprietary process that results in the inks having outstanding press performance and cured film properties. The quality of the 87 series makes the inks well suited for use in narrow web and wide web UV flexo printing processes requiring color consistency and fast cure response.
UVitec’s proprietary process used in the 87 series gives the inks excellent cell release characteristics and proper viscosity. The result is a printed image that is clean and sharp, according to the company, and it has excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates and improved hot stamping quality. Additionally, the 87 series inks’ outstanding throughcure allows presses to be operated at higher speeds, and the colors do not “shift” upon curing.
The 87 series UV ink is essentially VOC-free, making the inks environmentally friendly. It comes in a variety of Pantone and process colors, as well as metallic and fluorescent colors.
