Sartomer Company announced that it has opened a new laboratory in Exton, PA, expanding the company’s lab space by 25 percent. The new facility will be utilized for product synthesis, applications development, and analytical support functions for all of Sartomer’s product lines. It will also accommodate the company’s recent 16 percent expansion in laboratory personnel.
“With the addition of our Specialty Polymers Group, plus the increased market demand for specialty chemicals, lab space was at a premium,” said Gary Ceska, VP of technology for Sartomer. “Now, we can comfortably expand our specialty polymers capabilities in terms of synthesis and applications. The lab also provides the space we need to accommodate growth outside of the UV/EB arena – to markets including inks, powder coatings, concrete polymers, rubber, wire and cable, as well as oil field applications.”
The new facility features a state-of-the-art analytical services instrument room and a polymer laboratory, adding anionic polymerization technology to Sartomer’s extensive list of capabilities.
