INX International Ink Co., the third-largest producer of ink in North America and Nazdar, the leading manufacturer of screen printing inks in North America, have formed an alliance to co-develop products and services for the roll label market.
Nazdar brings 80 years of experience in manufacturing screen printing inks, 25 of these years as the pioneer in development of UV curable systems for this market.
INX International brings 100 years experience as a full service provider of ink and coating technology for packaging and commercial print applications.
The agreement offers opportunities for both companies. Nazdar has experience in the rotary screen industry, and INX International is strong in narrow web. The agreement allows both companies to develop and market new products.
“Nazdar is in the traditional screen market, where we don’t compete with them, and they want to explore possibilities for the roll label market segment,” said Dave Waller, INX International’s vice president, EB/UV business development. “We want to expand our capabilities to support the roll label market but didn’t have a full compliment of products. This allows us to work together and leverage the strengths of both companies.”
“With roll label adopting various combinations of print reproduction methods such as flexography, offset, letterpress and rotary screen, the addition of Nazdar’s screen ink experience will give INX the most comprehensive development group, product application mix, distribution and technical support in the business,” said Mike Fox, Nazdar’s president. “This new partnership leverages the key strengths of both INX (letterpress, flexo and gravure printing inks) and Nazdar (rotary screen inks and coatings) in supporting the rotary label market, thus allowing each to more effectively serve this market.”
Nazdar’s rotary screen ink will be packaged under the INX label with sales and service to the roll label market through INX distribution. Nazdar’s product and support will be integrated into this new relationship.
