Flint Ink Corporation has announced the creation of Jetrion, LLC, a new global company providing a full range of industrial ink jet products, services and custom printing solutions. This represents a multi-million dollar commitment by Flint Ink and will result in a tripling of dedicated digital staff in 2003.
Jetrion will be the only company worldwide with the combination of products, services and resources to capture pent-up demand for ink jet integration services, ink jet-enabling technologies and new custom, high-performance inks.
“A unique opportunity exists to leverage Flint Ink’s competitive strengths to create value for customers by providing a full range of integrated ink jet technologies,” said Dave Frescoln, president and COO of Flint Ink Corporation. “The highly experienced Jetrion management team will deliver a strategic mix of advanced products and value-adding services that are unique in the global ink jet market.”
“Flint Ink’s financial support, strong market presence, and industry relationships will enable Jetrion to deliver a full complement of ink jet solutions worldwide,” said Dr. Ken Stack, former vice president/general manager of Flint Ink’s Digital Division and new president of Jetrion. “We have assembled an unparalleled senior management team with exceptional technical expertise and a dedication to innovation. This team is committed to helping OEM manufacturers, printers and converters gain a competitive advantage through digital technology.”
Jetrion will provide a unique combination of ink, hardware, software and services for continuous ink jet (CIJ) and drop-on-demand (DOD) applications. “No other company can offer such a full range of ink jet solutions as Jetrion,” said Dr. Stack.
The company’s high-performance product portfolio increases productivity, accuracy and print efficiency for a range of packaging, addressing, coding and direct mail applications. Twenty-two different CIJ ink, makeup, and wash products are currently available for addressing and coding applications, including solutions for Scitex, Videojet, Domino and Imaje technology. Black addressing inks and a variety of UV and other solvent inks are available for DOD applications.
“Large-scale printers and converters are seeking partners to help them turn the potential of ink jet into profitable reality,” said Dr. Stack. “Simply supplying ink jet products is no longer good enough. Jetrion will leverage our industry experience and deep resources to provide differentiated support that includes systems integration and advanced technical and application services.”
