During the last few years, American Ink Jet Corporation (AIJC), Billerica, MA, has invested significant resources into equipment and labor for the development of a variety of UV curable ink jet inks.
AIJC believes that energy curable inks will play a significant role in the future for ink jet applications, and as part of the company’s ink development strategy, plans to release its first High Speed UV Curable ink capable of printing speeds of up to 800 feet per minute in the third quarter of 2003.
“If you are looking to transition from solvent inks and the environmental issues associated with VOCs, then our 100% solids High Speed UV Curable inks will present many benefits for you,” said Mike Andreottola, president of AIJC. “Our company has worked with UV lamps from several lamp manufacturers ranging from 200 to 600 watts per inch, and can easily tailor the formulas to meet unique requirements.”
High speed printing applications using a variety of media are suitable for this new ink set. These inks can be imaged on coated and uncoated media as well as a variety of solid substrates. The inks have been designed to work with the Spectra piezo print head technology.
