Rapid Color, a Las Vegas-based national commercial printer, has installed a new Komori five-color Lithrone G40 with H-UV (GL540). Offering a full spectrum of high-end commercial print products for the casino market and a host of large household brands, Rapid Color is the first commercial printer in Nevada to have Komori’s exclusive H-UV capabilities.
Rapid Color reports that in five months, the high-performance of the GL540 with H-UV has increased the company’s speed to market by more than 20%, increased revenue by 15% and reduced waste by up to 50%.
“The capabilities of this new press make it possible for us to produce jobs more efficiently, offer even better pricing than before and get more done in a shorter amount of time—all of which is paying off in tangible results,” said David Huckabay, owner and president of Rapid Color.
Huckabay says the press is running comfortably at 16,000 sheets per hour, supporting the company’s ability to offer products to be printed and shipped within 24 hours. Komori’s H-UV also operates in the “non-ozone” wavelength of the UV spectrum, making it an eco-friendly alternative and eliminating the need for venting. Using only one bulb in the delivery of the press to cure the sheet also significantly reduces cost over conventional UV.
