During Andigráfica 2015, Sun Chemical will introduce a wide range of solutions that enhance pressroom efficiency, meet sustainability requirements, produce quality prints at high speeds, and help packaging stand out on the shelf. This includes sheetfed inks that achieve sustainability goals, as well as publication solutions that print consistently across a growing range of improved paper stocks and grades.
“This is our first time presenting our global brand offerings as Sun Chemical Colombia,” said Fernando Tavara, president, Sun Chemical Latin America. “We are proud of our past as Tintas and we’re excited about the future as Sun Chemical. Our customers are looking for solutions that drive productivity, reduce waste and meet brand owner requirements of shelf standout and color consistency. Drawing from our global resources and expertise, Sun Chemical will be able to provide our customers in this region with solutions that are tailored to fit their individual needs.”
Sun Chemical’s family of SunLit sheetfed inks will be on display at Andigráfica. Formulated with a high proportion of renewable raw materials, each ink is fully aligned with the measures of print standardization (ISO 12647:2).
One of the newest offerings at the stand, SunLit Crystal universal sheetfed offset process inks, is an “all-in-one” ink solution. SunLit Crystal inks enable printers to produce highly appealing prints while maintaining effectiveness in the printing process. The printing ink can be used on straight or perfecting presses of all sizes and is the ideal solution if one or more presses are supplied from a pumping station. The SunLit Crystal solution is faster in work & turn than most standard printing inks and its high drying capability leads to print work with very good mechanical resistance.
Sun Chemical’s SunLit Triumph Max commercial sheetfed inks are formulated for high speed printing and high abrasion resistance on a wide variety of stocks, thereby increasing productivity and print fidelity. These inks come to color fast, reduce start-up waste and provide the press stability needed to improve overall job consistency.
The fast setting properties of SunLit Diamond inks reduce cylinder build up, cleaning frequency and sheet guide marking, saving customers money by avoiding waste print and increasing uptime. SunLit Diamond can be used on all offset presses of different sizes and formats, and provides excellent printing results on the different papers and boards used in commercial printing, giving customers the option of using one ink series for all of its presses.
Designed for use on all types of sheetfed presses and perfecting machines, SunLit Exact PSO sheetfed offset inks offer top quality 4-color process printing. Suitable for publication, commercial and package printing, SunLit Exact PSO offers strong lithographic stability at all press speeds, excellent dot reproduction, and good stack capability.
Visitors of the Sun Chemical/DIC booth will be introduced to SunLase laser marking solutions, a coating that enables brand owners to add information to both secondary and primary packaging information after the filling and closure of the pack, whether for practical supply chain purposes or as a late stage pack differentiator.
The SunLase solution prints a transparent or tinted coating onto a packaging substrate during the printing process. After the packaging has been sealed, variable coding graphic information, such as barcodes, QR codes, and “Use By” dates or branding, can be created using a low power CO2 or fiber laser to change the color of the patch to black where marked, with no risks to the packaged product.
Sun Chemical also offers a broad portfolio of high value coldset and heatset inks for the Latin American publication printing market. Sun Chemical’s publication inks are suited for presses that produce magazine, coupon and advertising insert work.
Label and narrow web printers will be introduced to the SolarFlex Nova SL range of UV flexo inks. Intended for the printing of labels, tags, sleeves, tickets and other applications typically found in the narrow web market, SolarFlex Nova SL features flow optimization for press performance, low odor for sensitive applications, fast curing for higher press speeds and a color strength that has been increased for finer anilox choices. It is formulated without any VOCs and compliant with the most stringent regulations that comply with the requirements of the most globally recognized brand owners.
Digital printers can learn about Sun Chemical’s Streamline aftermarket inkjet inks, designed specifically for use in wide format printers that use high-quality solvent-based inks.
