At the Print China fair in Guangdong from April 7-12, the KBA Group will be presenting a broad cross-section of its comprehensive product range for practically all print applications on an exhibition stand measuring more than 1,000 square meters.
Under the banner “Print Solutions for All,” KBA will also be revealing the secrets of a new medium-format press. The equipment features and performance of the new press have been positioned between the proven Rapida 105 and the high-end Rapida 106 models; the final unveiling is to be celebrated at the KBA manufacturing facility in Radebeul in June. Live production demonstrations at the fair will be showing off the latest extended capabilities of the Rapida 105 press, a favorite among Chinese commercial and packaging printers, which was premiered in Shanghai at the end of 2011.
KBA has always played a pioneering role in innovations for the sheetfed offset market. And that is currently the case yet again with the future-oriented LED-UV technology. KBA is presently the only manufacturer able to supply sheetfed offset presses with LED-UV dryers from B2 through to large formats, and can already point to a growing list of on-stream installations, including long Rapida 106 presses for full-color 4/4 perfecting. Taking up the slogan “Dry for Profit,” the user benefits of LED drying are to be illustrated through the example of a Rapida 75.
Further sheetfed offset topics – spotlighted by the slogans “Quality for Profit” and “Network for Profit” – are systems for inline and online quality control, and a new MIS CIP4 workflow solution named Complete Druck.X, which will also be available in the Chinese language. The offers are rounded off with a range of consumables from the PressConsum series.
Fair visitors can at the same time explore the capabilities of the new, flexibly scalable KBA RotaJET L platform for high-volume inkjet printing with web widths from 895 to 1,300 mm, as well as modern web presses for the printing of flexible packaging from KBA-Flexotecnica, inkjet coding systems from KBA-Metronic, which are in the meantime also manufactured locally in China, screen and digital printing systems from KBA-Kammann for the industrial decoration of premium glass containers, a segment which is today especially widespread in China but in most cases still a manual process, and technical solutions from KBA-MePrint for the high-quality printing of tubes, labels and films. For the first time, the KBA Group will also be exhibiting a folding carton gluer, the Rapida FCG 110.
China has been one of the most important markets for KBA for a number of years. Around 20 per cent of all sheetfed offset presses manufactured in Radebeul – from the Rapida 75 to the Rapida 164 – are in use in Chinese print companies. Leading Chinese newspapers are printed on KBA press lines, as are metal sheets for drinks cans and many more products.
