British Coatings Federation member Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems was presented with the Stationers’ Company’s Innovation Excellence Award at a lunch held at Stationers’ Hall on June 30, 2014.
Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems (Fujifilm SIS) secured the accolade having been nominated for the Stationers’ Award by the British Coatings Federation (BCF) following its entry to BCF’s own Sustainable Innovation Award in 2013. The judges commented that the entry put forward by Fujifilm SIS, of zero waste to landfill and significant cost reduction, showed the skilled deployment of a well engineered change program, and a great example of manufacturing best practice at work that ensures survival in a tough market place.
“We were absolutely delighted for our hard work and determination in the field of sustainable innovation to be recognized in this way, and enjoyed the opportunity to be interviewed by BBC In Business presenter Peter Day at the Awards lunch,” said Colin Boughton, European operations director of Fujifilm SIS. “We are grateful to the British Coatings Federation for nominating us for this Award. “
“Our huge congratulations go to the Fujifilm SIS team,” said Tom Bowtell, BCF’s chief executive. “This is the first Innovation Excellence Awards Programme run by the Stationers’ Company, which serves the £75 bn communications and content industry, and we look forward to being able to nominate BCF members in the future, based on their entries to our own awards, presented in November.”
