Toyo Ink Brasil Ltda. announced that it will be featuring a full lineup of commercial and packaging printing solutions at ExpoPrint Latin America 2014. The trade exhibition, the largest in the region for the printing industry, will be held at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from July 16-22.
Under the show theme of “Now Made in Brasil,” Toyo Ink Brasil will highlight the launch of its new world-class manufacturing facility in the city of Jundiai, in Sao Paulo, and its long-term commitment to the market.
“Our successful showing at ExpoPrint 2010 provided us with a solid platform on which to launch our business and promote the Toyo Ink brand,” said Sergio Pera, director of Toyo Ink Brasil. “At ExpoPrint 2014, we aim to build on our position as a major player in the region and demonstrate our ongoing confidence in the Latin America printing market with the establishment of the Jundiai plant.”
Toyo Ink Brasil broke ground on the Jundiai site in 2013 and began operations there this year. The Jundiai factory is expected to meet the increased demand for consumer goods resulting from Brazil hosting major sporting events, including the Olympics.
In addition to showcasing its new factory, the company will feature at its booth 46C (Hall C, Avenue A) its comprehensive portfolio of high-performance products and services that address the issues that commercial printers and package converters are facing today.
“ExpoPrint provides us with a great opportunity to show existing and new customers in Latin America the very latest in Toyo inks and related products and services, always with sustainable development and the customers’ demanding productivity and performance needs in mind,” said Pera.
Toyo’s ink manufacturing expertise, cultivated for more than 100 years in Japan, has made its way to Brazil and South America. Toyo Ink Brasil offers the TOYO KING HY NV100 BR and the TOYO KING MX HYBRIGHT BIO series of high-end sheetfed process inks as products “Made in Brazil with Japanese technology.” These inks use vegetable oils originating in Brazil and exhibit superior print consistency and environment friendly, VOC-free properties.
The KALEIDO INK series, part of Toyo Ink’s range of superior color-rendering solutions, is capable of reproducing a range of colors that would be impossible using regular process inks, without resorting to six- or seven-color printing, and covers the vast majority of the Adobe RGB color gamut. Positioned at the heart of Toyo Ink’s range of sheet-fed inks, the TOYO KING NEX NV100 Kaleido series of expanded-gamut sheetfed inks are VOC-free and use only vegetables oils instead of petroleum-based solvents, which contribute to global warming.
The AQUALESS Ultra process series is available in medium and low tack for a variety of paper stocks. It can be used on both conventional and digital printing presses.
Toyo’s FLASH DRY series is a new type of environmentally conscious UV inks that are more sensitive to UV light, making it possible to reduce energy consumption for UV irradiation during the curing process. This innovative series enables users to reduce irradiated UV (i.e. drying energy) by between one-fourth and one-half compared to normal levels.
The FLASH DRY K-HS line of UV-curable sheetfed inks is specially formulated for use on the HUV press. Line FLASH DRY LED is compatible with LED UV light sources, enabling a reduction of one-fourth. Toyo Ink is a leader in high sensitive UV-curable ink innovation, capable of providing a suitable ink for any type of UV lamp.
Toyo Ink Brasil will also have on display ARETS GRAPHICS’s UV flexographic inks for plastics and credit cards and UV offset metallic inks that provide excellent coverage and cure as well as its low odor and low migration UV offset inks for food packaging applications.
Toyo Ink offers a range of water- and solvent-based lamination ink products to suit any purpose, including heat resistant and environmentally friendly inks. At ExpoPrint, Toyo Ink will be showcasing its high quality LIOVALUE solvent-based gravure inks for retort pouch food packaging, and AQUA LIONA water-based flexo inks, which offer increased productivity while keeping environmental impact to an absolute minimum. Toyo’s AQUAECOL water-based gravure inks for flexible packaging exhibit excellent performance properties, which are suitable for high-temperature retort on any base material.
The Toyo Ink Group released new solvent-based flexo lamination inks REXTA and RIVET in June 2014. REXTA™’s unique ink binder resin enables it to withstand the rigors of the retort process and further optimize performance properties required by high-end flexible package printing, i.e. high graphic quality, temperature resistance and bond strength. The REXTA retort lamination high-end flexo ink series are Swiss Ordinance-compliant and formulated to meet strict industry or legislative guidelines. RIVET solvent-based flexo lamination inks are formulated for general-purpose packaging applications and exhibit excellent print quality, multiple film versatility, high performance properties, excellent bond values and superior solvent release.
