Published May 2, 2014
Djalma Novaes Jr. has been named president of Crown Embalagens Metálicas da Amazônia S.A. (Crown Brazil), a joint venture of Crown Holdings, Inc. and Évora S.A. of Porto Alegre, Brazil. The appointment was effective on March 1. Novaes succeeds Rinaldo Lopes, who spent more than 30 years with Crown.

Novaes returns to Crown Brazil from Fitesa, a nonwoven producer and a subsidiary of Évora S.A., where he served as COO since March 2012. Before that, Mr. Novaes held a number of positions within the Crown organization, including director of operations for Crown Brazil, as well as area manager and vice president of operations at Crown Beverage Packaging North America. Novaes first joined Crown in 1998.

“Crown is committed to supporting its operations throughout South America, where we work with both multinational and regional beverage companies to promote and enhance their brands,” said Raymond L. McGowan, president of Crown’s Americas Division. “We are pleased to have Djalma back at Crown Brazil and we are confident that the team, under his leadership, will continue to deliver exceptional products and services to our customers.”
