Kodak marked the grand opening of its new Technology Centre in Eysins, Switzerland with an official ceremony attended by customers, partners, and employees. The new facility combines the company’s European headquarters, inkjet demo facilities and EAMER Technology Centre in a single building.
"Kodak is now a formidable competitor - strong and ready to help lead the industry through disruptive technologies and breakthrough solutions in fast-growing market segments," said Antonio M. Perez, Kodak CEO. "Our new Technology Centre in Eysins is a good example of how we bring everything together for the benefit of the customer – technologies, products, services and our great team."
Among that best technology is the successful Kodak Prosper Press. Its capabilities were highlighted by Tom Fenske, one of four brothers who own Fenske Media in the U.S., when he gave a presentation during the opening. The operation’s two Kodak Prosper 5000XLi Presses run alongside a Kodak NexPress Digital Production Color Press. Also, complementing the product portfolio is a Kodak Magnus VLF Platesetter imaging Kodak Trillian SP Thermal Plates supported by Kodak Prinergy Workflow System.
“Kodak Technology has enabled us to transform our digital offering and has helped us double our business profits over the last eight years,” said Fenske. “We have seen our digital work grow year on year from an even split with litho and that is a trend that continues today. It is a great honour to be invited to share our company’s success story at such a pivotal moment in Kodak’s history.”
Among Kodak’s raft of solutions on demonstration at the new headquarters include the Kodak NexPress SX 3300 Digital Production Color Press, the Kodak Prosper 5000XLi Press, the Kodak Prosper S-Series Imprinting Systems (S5 and S10), the Kodak VersaMark VL4000 Printing System, the Kodak VersaMark VX5000 Plus Printing System, the Kodak Magnus Q800 Platesetter with Multi-Cassette Unit (MCU), the Kodak Flexcel NX Wide Imager (Q4) and all Kodak Unified Workflow Solutions.
"We now have all of the new Kodak under one roof,” Philip Cullimore, regional managing director, EAMER, said. “Our customers and partners have a one stop shop to meet the Kodak team and explore the company's solutions portfolio. And the combination of two offices into one ensure we are a more cost-effective operation."
